The Joy of Serving

Last weekend, my friend Emily and Lisa came to visit me in Syracuse from Pennsylvania. Knowing they must be exhausted after the long car ride, I thought about preparing a breakfast feast for them. Also, they could give me some feedback of my homemade granola!

Making food for friends and family is a way of serving people. (Acts of Service, according to The 5 Love Languages) I believe everyone, eventually, will have a chance to cook for people they love and care about. So I got up at 8:30 in the morning, almost an hour earlier than I usually do, and started preparing the breakfast feast. I had my granola made the night before, and all I needed is to cut some fresh fruits.  I simply made herb salads, cooked red-skin potatoes with butter & rosemary, toasted Rudi's organic 100% whole wheat bread, and made two gigantic Omelets!

Half of the omelet... I was too hungry...

It was a great breakfast, and I could not finish everything because there were so much food! It turned out that both Emily and Lisa really like the granola I made, which is a good news! Serving people brings joy and happiness, especially when you see people clean up their plates with their tongue (I am still waiting to see that one day, haha!).

Maybe next time, YOU should try volunteering to cook breakfast for your family and friends. I am sure they will love it!
