Aphrodisiac Foods - What makes you feel sexy?

I was watching "Master Chef" the other day, and the topic of the challenge is "Aphrodisiacs". (I love how one of the contestants was laughing for like 15 sec in front of the camera) When you think about it, cooking food that turns people on is actually kind of difficult.

Before I figure out the golden recipe with the right ingredients that can conquer every human being, I need to think back and ask myself what works for me. Sure, when it comes to chocolate desserts, a box of Lindt Lindor Truffles is enough to make me feel amazing. Chocolate Banana Crepe is even better; layers of crepes, banana, chocolate sauce, and whipped cream. (I will do anything for this!)

There are certain foods people recommend that could increase one's libido by stimulating hormones. Whether or not it is effective (i.e. the placebo effect), it surely does not stop people from trying them.

Most common aphrodisiac foods are: oysters, ginseng, truffles, deer/tiger penis (commonly used in Chinese medicine), chocolate, figs, caviar...etc. You name it, as long as they are shaped like genitalia! (Banana is also one of them... almost forget that one!)

Anyways, what I was trying to say when I started this post, is that making aphrodisiac foods can be easy if we are talking about desserts. I do not think people will argue with me in terms of making connection between sweet taste and romance, but what about savory foods?

Yes! Sashimi is probably the only savory food that I would consider aphrodisiac. Soy sauce, along with a kick of wasabi, brings out the natural sweetness of the fresh sashimi. It is ridiculously delicious! That is probably why there are Nyotaimori and Nantaimori in Japan. (lol)

So what is your aphrodisiac food? Comment below and tell me all about it.

Word of the Day:  aphrodisiac [af-ruh-DEE-zee-ak]
Named for Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love, aphrodisiacs are substances (including food or drink) that are purported to arouse or increase sexual desire. Among the better known edible aphrodisiacs are caviar, frog legs, oysters and truffles.
